Villeneuve is a municipality in the district of Aigle in the canton of Vaud of Switzerland. Villeneuve is located at 375 meters above sea level, 9 km north-northwest of the district main town Aigle and 4 km south of the city of Montreux. The historic town of Villeneuve stretches along the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, right the mouth of the Eau Froide, at the edge of Rhôneebene and at the foot of the Vaud Alps. The village of Villeneuve survived since the Middle Ages by the trade on the Rhônetalstrasse and the ship traffic on Lake Geneva.
