Breege is a municipality in the Vorpommern-Rügen on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Breege goes back to a Slavic settlement and was first documented in 1313.
Breege was until the beginning of the 14th century part of the Principality of Rügen and then the Duchy of Pomerania. With the Peace of Westphalia was Rügen and thus the area of Breege part of Swedish Pomerania. In 1815 Breege came as part of the Prussian province of Pomerania Neuvorpommern.
