Weather Webcam Chasseral. The Chasseral 1607 meters. M. is the highest mountain in the Bernese Jura, in the northwest of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland.
The Chasseral part of the Jura folds. The 20 km long Chasseral chain is bounded on the north by the valley of Saint-Imier, in the east by the gorges of the Suze, on the south by Lake Biel and the west by the Val de Ruz. On the southern slope of Chasseral lies at an altitude 800 m. M. the vast plateau Montagne de Diesse (Eng.: Tessenberg) with several places.
Northwest to the Valley of Saint-Imier extends the Combe Grède, a steep ravine, which is now a nature reserve. Up to an altitude of 1400 m, the Chasseral is forested, above which are mountain pastures.
