Weather Webcam Grossglockner, overlooking Fuscher paints: Track time-lapse weather Webcam live weather Grossglockner. The Grossglockner is at an altitude of 3,798 meters, the highest mountain in Austria. It lies on the border between Carinthia and East Tyrol and is the highest peak in the Glockner group, a group of mountains along the main ridge of the Hohe Tauern. His Majesty the Emperor Franz Joseph emigrated in 1856 at that point, subsequently known as "Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Höhe." Once there, you stand at a height of 2,369 m directly in front of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3,798 m), overlooking the longest glacier in the eastern Alps, the Pasterze. Marmots romp in the immediate vicinity and with a little luck you will also see the mighty ibex.
