The approximately 116 km² large island of Læsø is the most populated municipality of the thinnest Denmark. On the island of Læsø there are only 5 churches, 4 of them have towers. The Church in Byrum has a carillon in the tower, and in the "Østerby Church" hangs the oldest bell Laesoes. It was cast in 1700, and previously hung in the neck church.
