It is located in the municipality of Pelkosenniemi in Central Lapland. The Pyhätunturi consists of several peaks and forming the Fjell Luosto, who joins the northwest, a 35-kilometer mountain chain that clearly stands out from the flat area. Has the highest summit of Pyhätunturi the name Noitakero, other peaks are Kultakero, Ukonhattu, Laakakero, Peurakero and Soutaja. The Pyhätunturi created two billion years ago and consists of hard quartzite that could withstand the erosion and was abraded by the glaciers of the Ice Age to a round Fjell.
