Sedrun, the capital of the Swiss municipality of Tujetsch lies in the Grisons Surselva between the villages Camischolas and Bugnei on the Upper Rhine. The Sedrun consisted of remote Hofsiedlungen that extended from the Oberalp Pass to Bugnei. A village Sedrun has never existed. It was settled after the founding of the monastery Disentis in the 8th century. In the 12th century, the Walser emigrated over the Oberalp Pass and settled in upper Sedrun. It was not until the 18th century by the mountain farmers gradually becoming settled in the villages of the valley floor. Sedrun was capital of the municipality and the parish. The parish church of Sedrun, of which the tower is still standing, was inaugurated in 1205.
